Daughter of the crusading anti-abortion rights governor of Alaska... What was Mama Palin thinking of when she accepted John McCain's offer to dance all the way to the White House? Not Bristol, who now finds herself on the cover of the New York Post—at 17. ("Palin Teen Baby Shock") Sarah Palin says she is "proud" of her daughter's "decision" to have this baby, and assures us Bristol will marry the foul-mouthed hockey jock Levi. Oh, that makes it all all right, I'm sure. Bristol will not only have a baby to care for, but a husband who announced on his MySpace page that he never wanted kids. ("Ya f--- with me I'll kick your ass," he also said. Sounds like the foundation of a great marriage...) What a world it is for Bristol right now. After 25 years of conservatism, no one will say the obvious: that this is exactly the type of situation abortion rights were fought for. Bristol Palin had the right to have an abortion. But it's too late now.
