Rosebud #23

Momma Said Knock You Out!

Just got this email from Dylan Avery, the director of Loose Change (below); it's his challenge to debate Rolling Stone writer Matt Taibbi, whom I also challenged earlier today (in Rosebud #22). I think Dylan would do a way better job than I would, but I'm still up for it. I think Matt is a good reporter and smart writer, so I'd be really interested in how the hell he's going to back up the official story of 9/11, which is a little like listening to one of those leisure suit-wearing guilty guys on Colombo deliver an alibi. Come on Matty, let's throw down!

Dear Rolling Stone,
I find it insulting that Mr. Taibbi would openly refer to me as a
"dickwad" and challenge us to "prove him wrong" without even having the
balls to contact us ourselves. Instead, he resorts to ad hominem attacks and
putting words in our mouth. The fact that the only reason Mr. Taibbi
disagrees with us, and one-third of the country, is because we can't
offer an explanation as to what really happened, is ludicrous and shows
how little he has to stand on.

Rolling Stone is a publication I have highly respected and patronized
over the years. One of my greatest inspirations, Hunter S. Thompson,
worked for you. I would hope that, in the interest of journalistic
integrity, we are allowed a chance to speak our side of the issues.
Unless hit and runs are Standard Operating Procedure at Rolling Stone,
I'd honor an opportunity to put this joker in his place.
Sincerely,
-Dylan
