Rosebud #22

Challenge to Matt Taibbi

A reader writes:

Nancy, as always, excellent job with your blog...did you see the latest (and hugely read) hit piece in Rolling Stone by Matt Taibbi? Despicable!! What cowardice by Jann & Co. Just made me think of how opposite VF's attitude is--I'd love to see you write a piece about events leading up to 9/11 (as opposed to discussing the truth movement itself) that perfectly negates the kind of agenda-driven, unresearched smut Taibbi manages to get in print. If we can get the message out about the war games, ISI, CIA and Atta, put options, etc....those are irrefutable facts that the public deserves to know!

Hope you're well.

Taibbi says that those who doubt the official story of 9/11 are "clinically insane." Then that would mean that anywhere from 30% to 60% of Americans, according to several recent polls, are clinically insane. It would mean that many victims' family members, most famously the Jersey Girls, are clinically insane.

It would mean that Gore Vidal, as well as the many university professors involved in the 9/11 truth movement (see www.scholarsfortruth.org) are clinically insane. It would mean that many current and former government officials are clinically insane. It would mean that many current and former members of the U.S. military are clinically insane.

It would mean that the late Hunter S. Thompson, the great Rolling Stone and Vanity Fair writer, was clinically insane. Not to mention, Taibbi says, "shamefully stupid."

I'm no expert myself, just a concerned citizen and a journalist who has spent more than two years researching the facts. After reading Taibbi's piece, I know that I know enough about 9/11 to know that he is in no position to call anyone who doubts the official story "clinically insane." Not to mention "shamefully stupid."

In the spirit of truth, I challenge Matt Taibbi to a debate on the facts of 9/11. Anywhere, any time, baby. See you soon, I hope.
