Things we hope Barack Obama gets to, as president, after he can stop talking a little like a Republican:

—Try Bush and Co. for war crimes. Wars of aggression are No. 1 on the list of offenses.
—Do something about the Military Commissions Act, which is unconstitutional and scary.
—Deconstruct the detention camps KBR is building (with a $385 million grant from Homeland Security). Some are calling them concentration camps. Also weird and scary.
—Close Guantanamo. But also the U.S. military's numerous black sites...

We have to wonder why Obama hasn't been speaking out against any of this stuff during the campaign. I know, I know, he has to get elected. But he's also been talking about increasing troops in Afghanistan and conducting strikes along the Pakistan border, which all seems kind of Republican-type crazy. U.S. and NATO air strikes in Afghanistan keep killing civilians; not only tragic and wrong but also inflaming the Afghan people's resentment of the U.S. military presence there. Didn't we learn anything from what happened to the Soviet Union when they tried to win a war in Afghanistan?
Anyway, back to the list:
—Please do something about Ugly Betty. That show really annoys me.
