I thought Obama made a mistake when he chose Biden as his running mate, but not after last night. Biden was smart and solid and remarkably respectful, while I found Palin to be sarcastic, shrill and defensive. And cocky. (That stuff about wanting to be just like Dick Cheney? Lord help us!) Yeah, he's a big Washington senator, but Biden's a real guy; he wasn't born well-off like so many others in political life (including John McCain).
