Rosebud #311

Hey, anybody notice the economy's going down the john? You can thank George Bush and Co. for that. Now, don't tell me "it's the market," like stock brokers like to do when they throw a bunch of your cash down some hole. It was the ridiculous tax refunds we got back after the suckers first took office. Excuse me, but what the hell was that for? They were already IN office. Not like they had to buy our votes. They'd stolen the election anyway. And then, all of sudden, we were all getting these measly little checks for a few hundred dollars—Bush cronies were getting a lot more—which, altogether, added up to about a trillion and change, almost the whole budget surplus we had at the time. Then, they lowered taxes on the wealthy. (Well, of course.) Then, they started these stupid endless wars in Afghanistan and Iraq, which we just can't afford—not to mention the moral capital they waste. The Department of Homeland Security was a big fat expenditure too—along with all its under-reported graft. And now we're headed over a cliff. Yesterday saw the second biggest bank failure in U.S. history (IndyMac). One wonders, what are they going to do with all the homeless families, victims of foreclosures, corrall them into those mysterious detention centers they're building out west? And STILL there will be people who vote Republican this November. People with nothing. People who should know better. People who think, I guess, that it's better to blow away Muslims and Hate the Gays than it is to have a decent life. Denial is the most powerful of all human dysfunctions.
