Rosebud #403

So this summer, they put this guy Neel Kashkari in charge of "Financial Stability" for the United States. Today, when he was grilled by Congress, he was asked about the $503 million of its massive government bailout AIG has put aside for executive bonuses, and Kashkari said he was not in charge of "oversight." Um, so who is? The Congressmen also whipped whipping boy Kashkari for the Treasury Department's failure to do anything to forestall home foreclosures; meanwhile Kashkari claimed Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson is "passionate" about helping homeowners. "He is?... In what country?" asked Rep. Dennis Kucinich. Jesus, the Bush administration's corrupt bullshit continues even into the last and final days of its rampage through all that's decent, fair and honest and makes any kind of sense, doesn't it? Kashkari, 35, is married to an engineer for Lockheed Martin, the world's largest defense contractor, by the way. He's a former employee of Goldman Sachs, where his co-workers referred to him as "the Borg." (And not to pile on, beleaguered dude, but what is going on with your ears?)
